The Beginning of Something
Utropia is nothing more than a junk drawer, a place to set in motion all those ideas piled up on sticky notes and scraps of paper. Ideas that once seemed brilliant to you, almost genius, and that for a few hours made you dream. You saw everything clearly: how to develop them, the interface, their functions, imagined in your head down to the inch. But then they vanished, leaving behind merely the trace of a paragraph at best, or just a word or two most times.
Somewhere along the way, we forgot to play, to experiment. I guess daily responsibilities, the whole "growing up" thing, the daily grind, make you forget that we've never stopped being children who need to learn and experiment, without being judged, without a purpose, without an objective – just playing, after all.
As someone obsessed with organization, I needed to create a place to make sense of what I was going to do. And this is Utropia, a playground. Taking a random idea from my notes, developing it from start to finish, and accepting that most likely no one will use it, and that's okay.
Most ideas I put out there might seem absurd to you, meaningless, and you might be right. But remember that I'm doing this for myself, not for you, and I encourage you to do the same: go back to playing without thinking that what you're doing is a waste of time.
